Pia's artwork has strong ties to traditional tattoo art and harbors imagery relating to the everyday city life that she effortlessly becomes a part of. The sights and, more importantly, sounds of urban living can be distinctly felt in Pia's work. Imaginative use of street art techniques (such as stencil work and controlled over spray) can be found in much of her work, successfully blending the fundamental parts of many art-based cultural movements into a functioning and appealing whole.

In 2007 Pia had her first solo show at the Kennith Batelman Gallery. Later that year she and longtime friend, artist/designer Randolph Ramirez created Oveja Collective, a collaborative and ever expanding art collective.

Pia Phelps has a level of individuality that is impressive by any standards. I am sure you will enjoy this exhibition.
